Beer Boiled Peel n' Eat Shrimp with Old Bay

Nothing beats beer boiled shrimp on summer days. Simmered in beer and Old Bay, these Maryland-style peel n’ eat boiled shrimp are easy to make, fun to eat and a perfect addition to your crab feast.

Growing up in Maryland, our families favorite summer get togethers is spending an afternoon picking crabs and peel-and-eat boiled shrimp. Boiled shrimp are quick and easy to make and my favorite way to prepare them is simmered in beer and Old Bay seasoning with cocktail sauce on the side. You’ll be amazed by how much cooking shrimp in the shell maximizes flavor and helps retain moisture, so be sure to buy raw shrimp instead of pre-cooked. Cooking shrimp twice will result in very tough shrimp.

The ingredients for beer boild shrimp recipe are very simple, shrimp, Old Bay seasoning, unsalted butter, and your favorite beer.

If you live in Maryland or it’s surrounding states you can probably just buy the Old Bay seasoning at your local grocery store in the aisle with spices, if not you can buy Old Bay Seasoning here on Amazon.

Trust me you will use it for more than just this recipe, it is also great for any seafood recipes, tuna salad, chicken salad, Old Bay and butter chicken wings are also delicious.

First, you’ll want to devein your shrimp or I recommend buying frozen shrimp that have already been deveined and defrosting it yourself.

I prefer to serve my Shrimp with a side of melted butter and old bay for dipping.
